Lohri is a traditional Punjabi Indian Event celebrating the addition of a new child to the family.  Traditionally, only the addition of boys into the family was celebrated at Lohri, but as the gender gap is closing, Lohri in Vancouver and Lohri in Surrey is  celebrated for both male and female children.

The Lohri festivity usually involves a small bon fire and the sharing of Indian sweets, and can often include a home Indian Music Party, Mehfil Indian Music, where Lok Geet and Punjabi Songs are sung.
