Freedom is a Canadian singer of Punjabi Indian descent. He was born in Kenya and given the name Sarbjit Singh Neel. He developed his passion early studying Traditional Indian and Sikh Devotional music. Disillusioned with the political dogma behind the sacred message of the tradition, he chose a path of singing uplifting old Traditional Hindi music, Punjabi Folk Songs, Sufi music, Qawwalis, Geets and Ghazals which convey a similar, but deeper message, with a lighter approach.

Freedom’s partner Leela, is Scottish Canadian, born in Nova Scotia, and is classically trained as a Soprano. She grew up singing Celtic and Christian Music with her family of 8 siblings. She has been singing Indian songs in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu with Freedom to audiences world-wide for the past 15 years. She has a passion to create that special mood, with an angelic voice that evokes a heart-felt response with her listeners. Freedom and Leela perform Indian Music at Punjabi and Indian Weddings, and intimate concerts and programs that are uplifting and exhilarating. Their charismatic voices naturally engage them with their audience.
