Q: My Sikh Punjabi friends are getting married. What sort of gift should I give them for their Sikh marriage?

A: The classic gift at a Sikh wedding is money, mulla!! The amount given should be an “auspicious” number ending in 1 – $11, $21, $51, $101.  Cash is always preferred.

Besides giving money be prepared to sit through a long Anand Karaj, Lavan – Sikh wedding ceremony.  These can last a couple of hours.  Start practicing sitting on the floor and enjoy the feast following the Sikh Wedding.
